Why does my mouth taste like metal?

Little Red Riding Hood
I sort of finished the black and white. It sort of lacks the dynamic feel the original did. So I hate it.
Art Commitment Issues
I decided to take it as far as I thought I should take it. I didn't think overworking it would be a good idea. But that might have been my laziness trying to justify its existence.
I may have also been listening to healing incantation on loop as I painted this.
Also happy pride week Toronto. have a rainbow.

Getting Inked
Let's see how many crappy puns I can cram into my blog in one posting.
One might say I'm on fire with this pentel pocket pen. Har har har. No but seriously. Fire's pretty fun with this pen.

Ride of the Valkyrie
"The Hero" Ride of the Valkyrie - Vis Dev Project
He's looking a little John Snow-y, but I'm not too upset by that. John Snow is attractive enough. Sort of the same deal too, a nameless character who is a hero in his own right.

Beat Painting
I actually finished it. Well. Nothing is ever finished, really. You just stop working on it - and in my case, it's usually because you start ruining it instead of making it better.
Enjoy. Comments welcomed.
I'm gonna start another one. Maybe something tamer. If you want to check the process on this again, click here.

Sketchbook Stuff
Some sketches from my book. I didn't feel like scanning in everything because my scanner sounds like I'm murdering kittens with a hacksaw.
This page is probably my favourite -- I'm trying to draw faces that aren't my standard stoic face that I draw on everyone.
See here:
Just some stuff.

Next of Kin, Page 007
So no, I'm not big on doing comic work when I come home at night after all that. Haha. But I'm going to continue its production at 2 pages at a time, once a week.
yep. moving to downtown soon I Guess.
Also I realize the drawing doesn't continue in the first panel of this page. I'll fix it tomorrow. So tired.

Next of Kin, Page 006
Fact: Arson is known as fire-raising in Scotland. Not sure why.
I'm getting the hang of the lettering business, and I'm totally just reusing speech bubbles. Lol.

Next of Kin, Page 005
The dialogue boxes gave me some issue, but I think isn't a terrible look for them. I kind of like the rough edges. But hopefully I'll figure out a way to do them better.
EDIT: I always like to give it a test run on the blog before I publish it to the official tumblr. I've edited the location box in the first panel. It was in a silly place before, but that's why you don't do lettering right before you go out for dinner.
I've also increased the text size a smidgeon, it was uncomfortably small. Thanks Sanju.

Next of Kin, Page 4
I had issues with this page, but its time to move on. I like the last panel, but probably because I tried the hardest on it. Haha.

Next of Kin, pages 1 and 2
For the record. I decided to just wing this story because I've had the vague idea in my head for ages, and if I mull over it too much, I will ruin it.
Next of Kin Cover
Here you go, here's a better cover. Drew from a few inspirations, Faith Erin Hicks included - a super talented comic/freelance illustrator from Halifax, Nova Scotia, who's also the illustrator and author of Friends with Boys. This is an odd combo, but it seemed to have worked somewhat.
I also realized that those sketches I posted last night were a complete dud without an explanation, but I won't spoil it. enjoy.
I'll be writing the story over the course of the next
I don't believe an accident of birth makes people sisters or brothers. It makes them siblings, gives them mutuality of parentage. Sisterhood and brotherhood is a condition people have to work at.-- Maya Angelou
Next of Kin is about two half sisters who struggle to see eye to eye until a fire changes everything.

Painting dump
Hi folks. Hope blackout day didn't convenience you too much, not that it stopped you from browsing my blog. For comic relief's sake, you should check out Herpderpedia on Twitter, which is by the way absolutely hilarious. The moronic endeavours of students who have no idea how to look up something without a search function. Please, google was there before wikipedia, and libraries before that. I'm pretty sure you can do most work without wikipedia...
Hope you learned a lot, and that you need to convince your congressmen to vote no to SOPA/PIPA on the 24th. I thought about "drafting" the SOPA/PIPA protest post, but I'm leaving it up. The link to the petition you can sign is on there, as well as information. There's also an enormous slur on the name that is MPAA, but that's their own fault.
I was doing a bit of painting over the last couple of days, but nothing major. I did some work from that story I had "Ride of the Valkyrie" (as seen in my portfolio, which is currently cornered off, you need to ask for the password).
This painting is of the Valkyrie in the story, who's some corrupt bitch. I'm not happy with her arm, but it's just a sketch.
Obviously, obligatory Solace image. Sorry, I will actually get to the comic someday. It's a work in progress, but I've been looking at a lot of video game concept art, and I thought I'd start doing some, and I'd start with something I knew.

And a little something I did in memorium. I'll miss you Amber. 17 years is a long time to know someone when you've only been alive for 23.

Board Excerpt
I'm not a big on boarding, but occassionally I get inspired. These are the least ugly boards.

| there's some serious jersey shore going on here. |
I haven't been posting as much because it's sort of crunch time at work again. Also haven't been feeling terribly inspired. So a lot of my free time is actually spent doing anything except drawing.
